Frequently asked questions

Q: Do I need an appointment to try on dresses?
A:  We now do accept appointments to try on wedding gowns Monday-Friday only. Call store to set appointment time for 1 and a half hours.  Because of all the different styles we offer, dresses can take a while to try on so if you come without an appointment we do ask that you be here one hour before closing.

Q: Can I take pictures?
A: Yes and in fact we encourage you to do so.

Q: What should I bring to try on wedding gowns?
A:  It's always best to bring pictures of any dresses you have seen or tried on elsewhere to help your consultant understand the look you want to achieve on your big day. Also, it is recommended you bring  heels and a strapless bra as those are not provided. Lastly, bring an open mind; you never know what you will fall in love with!

Q: Who should I bring to try on wedding gowns?
A: Bring your closest friend or family member you trust to help you make that important dress decision. Sometimes bringing too many people can take the focus off  you!

Q: How far in advance should I order my wedding gown?
A: We recommended you order your gown at least 6 to 8 months before your wedding. Every designer will have a different delivery time but most are 12-18 weeks. Usually brides order their gown once they know they have found the one therefore there are no worries in case the gown is discontinued.

Q: Do you offer alterations?
A: Yes, we do offer alterations on the wedding gowns for an additional fee.

Q: When should I order my bridesmaids' dresses?
A: Bridesmaids' dresses should be ordered at least 5 months in advance. They generally take up to 4 months to come in  and you need to give your girls alteration time depending on their tailor.

Q: When should I order my tuxedos?
A: You should register your tuxedo styles 6 to 8 month before the wedding. Your gentleman do not need to be measured until 2 months before with the exception of small boys, they can be measured 2 weeks before because they can grow pretty fast.

Q: When we will pick up our tuxedos?
A: The final fitting for your party will generally be 2 days before the wedding. We have a seamstress on hand for any minor adjustments that may need to be made and our warehouse is less then 20 minutes away in case an exchange is needed.

Q: Why should I not order my gown/dresses online?
A: Online retailers only look at you as a one time buyer. They do not care about giving you the customer service you deserve or the product you dreamed about. Over the years I have heard many horror stories of situations brides have been put through with online ordering and many of the brides have ended up at the store in tears! Our designers do not allow their gowns to be ordered online so if you do not purchase a Alfred Angelo from a retailer store for example, that dress will not be a true Alfred Angelo and you will lose all backing from the company if a problem should arise. In reality, the savings between online and store purchases is very minimal compared to the peace of mind knowing if a issue arises you can walk right into the store and talk to me!
